After an impressive headline slot on the Moseley Folk Festival’s Lunar stage earlier this year, between stints at Shambala and Bestival, Goodnight Lenin are coming back to their roots with fellow Midlanders Boat to Row and are once again teaming up with The Lunar Society.

Shambala is the original small-capacity independent festival, beginning in the West Country back in 1999, with 150 people in a field, one portaloo and a farmer’s trailor as the stage – complete with sound system hijacked from a students union. It has come a long way since and its tenth anniversary show, last year – with the sun shining, hot tubs bubbling, after-dark antics and wild woodland escapades – was a sell out.
