Ex-Touareg warriors from the Sahara Tinariwen headline, with their soul-entrancing style of acoustic desert music. Billy Bragg and Badly Drawn Boy are also highlight performances to keep in mind. Music: Goodnight Lenin Competition

lunar_sept_2010After an impressive headline slot on the Moseley Folk Festival’s Lunar stage earlier this year, between stints at Shambala and Bestival, Goodnight Lenin are coming back to their roots with fellow Midlanders Boat to Row and are once again teaming up with The Lunar Society.

News: Moseley Folk Festival 2009

Moseley Park in Birmingham has seen some sell out performances in the past three years including Jose Gonzales, Seth Lakeman and Morcheeba and this year it should feel no less honoured to have playing on its grass Saint Etienne, Beth Orton and Jethro Tull. Other acts include BBC Radio 2’s Folk Awards Best Live Act, The Demon Barber Roadshow and Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds who perform punk classics in a folk style. Returning after a 35 year abscence are cult folk band Comus, and critically acclaimed relative new comer Jim Moray.
