Headliners come in the form of a UK festival exclusive appearance by rap-superstar Kanye West, dance-kings The Chemical Brothers and passionate Latin duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.

The Big Chill’s much-loved cocktail of electronic, indie, pop and international sounds from a huge number of acts spans the festival’s numerous stages. Artists getting you up dancing and in the mood for a party include 2manyDJs, Calvin Harris, Aloe Blacc, King Midas Sound and Plastician who are appearing alongside classic artists such as Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Neneh Cherry, Robert Plant and The Band of Joy, Tom Middleton and Norman Jay. Other highlights in the line-up are fantasy-inspired duo Empire of The Sun and the dance chart-topping solo artist Example.

Newcomers include Chipmunk, Jessie J and Katy B, and audiences will also enjoy international flavours courtesy of Femi Kuti and the Positive Force, and rising underground gems such as Midnight Beast, Jamie xx and Wild Beasts, plus an and exciting new collaboration The Bullitts featuring Hollywood star Lucy Liu.

N.A.S.A. (North America/South America) – an ongoing creative collaboration between Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon will release their debut ‘The Spirit of Apollo on Anti on February 16, 2009
We haven’t been this excited by an albums line up in long while!

Album guests include: Tom Waits, Kanye West, Karen O, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Spank Rock, David Byrne, MIA, RZA, Santogold, George Clinton, Chuck D, Sizzla, Method Man and many more

Unexpected collaborations abound on the eighteen track release. Tom Waits growls over Kool Keith, Karen O taunts while Ol’ Dirty Bastard gives shout-outs to Wu Tang and N.A.S.A from the grave, and David Byrne, Chuck D and others expound on the evils of “Money.” In spite of the range of performers, the pairings seem organic, inspired and make perfect sense on the first listen, never coming off as ironic or impulsive.

The Spirit of Apollo is released on February 16, 2009
