The NME Shockwaves Tour is set to kick start at Liverpool University on the 29th January 2009, building up to the Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 in the legendary Brixton Academy. The likes of Glasvegas, Friendly Fires, White Lies & Florence, and The Machine will be spreading NME fever through 17 towns in the New Year. Having helped to launch the careers of Muse and the Arctic Monkeys the latest tour is set to be bigger, better, and with perhaps a few surprises. Friendly Fires guitarist Edd Gibson hinted at some interesting collaborations whilst on the road: “We might get a ‘Feed the World’style thing going on!”  Tickets go on sale 9am Wednesday 12th November.
