noisettesCelebrating its 10th anniversary, Scotland’s most eclectic festival is not to be missed this time around. Feeder will entertain the crowd with their 20-year career of hits, along with Echo & The Bunnymen, The Noisettes (pictured) and the Damned to commemorate a decade of The Wickerman. festivalSet for a record breaker of a year, Kendal Calling confirms bass thumping Chase and Status as Friday headliners, along with iconic new-wave punks Blondie (image by Paris Visone) who are Sunday night’s top act. Also onboard are eccentric threesome Young Knives, The Whip and Nero. Each stage will host its own theme – Kaylied Tent will hold folk music, Calling Out Stage will give new music a chance to shine, while Glow Dance Stage needs no explanation. gilles-petersonHousing some of the finest jazz, funk and soul artists last year, including Sun Ra’s Arkestra, Mostly Jazz resurfaces for a second time, adding to the bill an array of talent that aims to promote fresh diversity. Appearances this year include Booker T, The Cinematic Orchestra, Birmingham Jazz Assemble and Brass Roots. There will even be a DJ set from everyone’s favourite Liverpudlian Craig Charles.
