Beneath the mainstream hoopla of Vegas, there's an artistic subculture gaining its own lowbrow popularity.   In 5 years Vegas' monthly First Friday art event has grown from a crowd of 40 to 8,000.  Started by Cindy Funkhouser, who began showing art in the back of her antique store, the event now includes 45 galleries and studios showing exhibitions along with 50 artists selling work on stalls outside amongst bands, musicians and jugglers. 

Fused spoke to six artists who are big in the Vegas scene: Ami Sol, Richard Brian, Tragic Magic Head, Diane Bush, Jessi Lawson and Casey Weldon.
