Birmingham's online music portal, birminghamusic.com has teamed up with cutting-edge lifestyle magazine Fused to stage three unsigned showcase events of epic proportions across Birmingham. Entitled The Birmingham Sessions, the three events are set to showcase what's happening musically in Birmingham.
Each event will showcase different genres of music from the Birmingham area and the site is looking for new artistes of each genre to participate. The Birmingham Sessions kick off on the 23rd of November with an Urban night at the Boiler Room, Indie/Rock is showcased on the 1st of December at Barfly and the Sessions conclude on the 8th of December with a Folk/Jazz night at the Glee Club.

In November / December Fused teamed up with www.birminghamusic.com to put on 3 gigs at 3 venues over 3 weeks and all with free entry. Read reviews, info and the bands and interviews of all those that took part.
On Wednesday the 23rd November the first session gig took place at the Boiler Room. DJ Mylz from Heducation kicked off the night with a selection of great hip-hop tunes to get the party started.
It may have been raining outside but that didn't stop the people turning up to the second of the Birmingham Session Gigs. The line up of Liner, Deluka, Murdoch and The Ripps were too much of a pull for people to stay in watching Eastenders!!!!
Birminghamusic.com has been developed to support local musicians and bands and to provide a platform to profile and showcase Birmingham music to local and national audiences.
The Jazz/Folk sessions took place at the fabulous Glee Club Studio on Thursday 8th December with Everest, Vijay Kishore and Jayne Powell. The venue offers a cosy intimate affair which was spot on for the event.
Mylz has been responsible for bringing many of hip-hop’s luminaries to Birmingham. Along with co-founder DJ STX, Mylz heads up the popular night Heducation which has been bringing party vibes...
On first hearing The Whitmo’ Deans playing live you would never think that the oldest member of the band is only 29. Their musicianship is so well accomplished you could easily think they were 10 to 15 years older
The Ripps are a three-piece that describe their music as Alcopopalyptic, Chiptastic and Tostadora, which would go someway to describe their sense of fun and energy on-stage.
