Fused projects
Vijay Kishore
It isn’t difficult to describe Vijay Kishore - in simple terms his voice is amazing. When he sings he takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions - you feel like you are either suffering his pain or enjoying his happiness.
The singer songwriter from Handsworth has spent the past four years making a name for himself gigging around the country whilst gaining fans and a great reputation. Recent supports slots have included Keisha White, Nizlopi, Ray Davies and Sebastien Tellier. Although you can’t help but think that soon support slots will be a thing of the past – this man is a true headliner.
What has been your favourite gig?
They keep changing but at the moment it’s St. Mary’s Guildhall in Coventry (beautiful room) and Bush Hall in London (great crowd).
What's the worst thing ever from Birmingham?
That we've got this stupid rep down south which is totally unjustified ...they've probably got more daft people than we have because it's bigger.
Fused once saw wrestler/actor Pat Roach walking down New Street in a full-length fur coat that touched the floor. Who's the best celeb you've spotted in Birmingham?
I once spotted Coolio walking down New Street with a huge entourage. Everyone was looking at him but I don't think they all knew who he was. It was well funny.
Fused are throwing a party what records are you going to bring with you for dancing and 'making out'?
I'd bring my new iPod so I wouldn't have to make that choice and I could then play all my favourites depending on the mood of the place.

Barffly
It may have been raining outside but that didn't stop the people turning up to the second of the Birmingham Session Gigs. The line up of Liner, Deluka, Murdoch and The Ripps were too much of a pull for people to stay in watching Eastenders!!!!

The Ripps are a three-piece that describe their music as Alcopopalyptic, Chiptastic and Tostadora, which would go someway to describe their sense of fun and energy on-stage.
