

Jayne Powell is blessed with one of those voices that could make any song sound great. Her beautiful vocals and songwriting skills have gained her a strong following up and down the country and has firmly established her as one of Birmingham's leading songwriting talents. Jayne and her band have supported a variety of signed artists such as; Sam Brown & Dave Rotheray's Homespun, Kathryn Williams, Jim White, Lucky Jim and Jason Mraz whilst still fitting in TV appearances, live radio sessions and independently releasing their own recordings, Dandelion Clock and The Chapel Session.

Old time waltzy laments, mellow grooves, quirky country soul.
Where did you meet?
I've known Jonny bass player since school, teamed up with Loz (guitar) at college, then Jayne (percussion), Gayle (vocals) and Pete (drums) out and about on the music scene in Birmingham.
What was your first gig like?
With this line up we played at the Marr's Bar in Worcester, about eighteen months ago. There is always a very friendly and receptive crowd, which made it pretty easy and enjoyable for us.
What's the best thing ever from Birmingham?
Cadbury's chocolate.
What are the advantages and disadvantages about being based in the Midlands?
The advantages are: It's close to home, family, friends, work; there's a good music scene; places of interest; and nice hills! There are no disadvantages.
