Fused projects
Everest
When Everest played the Birmingham Session’s Glee Club gig they told the crowd that it was their last ever gig. But there was no need for panic as Keyboard player Sam continued that it was their last gig as Everest as they are changing their name to The Readymades. The band was formed 3 years ago by founding member Ollie Hawes who moved from city to city in his endeavour to acquire the perfect lineup. Luckily for us he found it in Birmingham and settled here in 2004. Thanks to Ollie's songwriting talents and the captivating vocals of Gayle Henry the band have been recording with EMI. It is official they are the best band to come from the Edgbaston EVER.
What was your first gig like?
About as tight as a Babyshambles gig.
What has been your favorite gig so far?
The Magnet in Liverpool a few months ago, people actually faced the stage.
Fused once saw wrestler/actor Pat Roach walking down New St in a full length fur coat that touched the floor. Who's the best celeb you've spotted in Birmingham?
Nick Owen and the rest of the Midlands Today team in the Selly Oak Tavern. They blanked us.
What are the advantages and disadvantages about being based in the Midlands?
It's ideal if you playing a gig in Birmingham but it's awkward if you're playing in say, London or Manchester.
Fused are throwing a party what records are you going to bring with you for dancing and 'making out'?
For dancing - Radiohead, for making out - Kraftwerk.
