“I try to involve graphic elements to cement the fact that these are just paint on board, and not intended to mimic reality. I couldn't call it surrealism with a clear conscience, but that is usually the first word that comes to peoples minds.” Says Casey Weldon about his work.

His ideas stem from the strange places of the mind as well as when having a beer with friends.  “I'm often half awake in the middle of the nightconscience an image will just walk right into my head.  I'm always daydreaming about unimportant things, and it's that lack of focus that seems to spawn the best subject matter.
I definitely try to say something in each painting.  Sometimes it's just a one-liner thought, like rabbits in wheelchairs or Ronald McDonald breastfeeding a fat baby.  Sometimes the message is a bit cryptic and hopefully demands a little more attention.  I'd like the viewer to attempt to figure out what a piece is about rather than focus on how it's painted.”

A big fan of MySpace Casey uses it to get exposure.  “It's absolutely necessary.  I avoided it for a long time but once that website went up, a connection to a bajillion people was made, or at least the possibility of a connection.  I was afraid of MySpace for a while too just because it seemed a little cheesy.  I was wrong and I'll admit it.  The whole blogasphere deal is great too.  Someone will post a pic of yours with a link to your site, then another will link to them and before you know it your work is spreading like an STD.  I love it."
