SHAMBALA 09-102

Shambala is the original small-capacity independent festival, beginning in the West Country back in 1999, with 150 people in a field, one portaloo and a farmer’s trailor as the stage – complete with sound system hijacked from a students union.  It has come a long way since and its tenth anniversary show, last year – with the sun shining, hot tubs bubbling, after-dark antics and wild woodland escapades – was a sell out.

2010’s Shambala Festival will retain it’s genuine, non-commercial, diverse feel providing a fun-packed, creative weekend with everything from Geisha hostesses and Rio style carnivals to 1930’s tea dances and Ukelele lessons.

Over 100 artists will perform this year but as usual it is all hush hush – keeping to the festival’s secretive nature – the line-up and location are kept under wraps until your tickets are purchased.  Festival-goers can rest assured that the carefully curated line-up is a hit every year and just proves that you don’t need the involvement of huge corporate names to bring in a killer list of acts.

Shambala is all about the environment and has won a host of awards for their innovative green initiatives, including using almost 100% renewable energy sources.
