The 4am Project returns for its second year to wake up bleary eyed photographers world wide as they light up the dark recesses of 4am. The brain child of Birmingham based photographer Karen Strunks, the project is renowned for producing hauntingly beautiful pictures of a world few of us stop to admire in its most silent brilliance.

The aim is to bring photographers and non-photographers alike together in order to demonstrate the deserted beauty of everyday places. Jason Hall from Screen WM regards the project as a worldwide phenomena,

“the 4am project is one of those wonderful ideas that just seems to capture people’s imagination the world over…and has already amassed over 2000 photos from 25 countries.”

The event takes place at (you guessed it) 4am on the 4th April, so set those alarm clocks early folks and take the time to explore your world in a new light or no light as the case may be, depends on where you are really!
