This summer sees the release of a limited edition version of DKNY’s iconic apple-inspired fragrance Be Delicious. Art by New York graphic artist and illustrator, Brad Hamann has transformed the regular packaging into a funky piece of Pop Art memorabilia, featuring ben-day dots, lettering and speech bubbles.
Inspired by the Pop Art movement which exploded onto the New York scene in the 1960s, pioneered by artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, this newest campaign by DKNY reflects the kitschy ethos and aesthetics of this popular art form and situates it appropriately in our postmodern world.
Hamann has created a comic strip which plays out the concept behind the campaign, featuring a young women living in New York, experiencing the endless possibilities the city has to offer. Unfortunately this is only available in paper form in the Big Apple, but you can view it online at www.dknyfragrances.com.
The new bottle is available in two sizes, 100ml (RRP £41.11) and 50ml (RRP £29.39), and you can also bag yourself a Be Delicious Body Lotion (150ml, RRP £15.66) featuring the new design.
The collection is available exclusive to Debenhams right now and nationwide from the 23rd September 2009, when you can snap up a FREE* canvas bag printed with a Pop Art image of the signature Be Delicious girl-with-apple iconography.
