Coming out from their support act status under headliners like Jamie T and The Young Knives, Birmingham band Scarlet Harlots are taking on the tour circuit to celebrate the release of their EP, Word is bone, back is strong out on the 13th April.

Ambitiously aiming to join dub step, garage, and drum and bass with guitar sounds like that of Gang of Four and The Smiths, they like to “take what works and dirty it up” and go by the genre of Punk-Step which seems to be pretty popular with the likes of DJ Lauren Laverne and (not Sir) Bob Geldof, oh and all those people that watched and voted for them on Orange Unsigned Act.

Yo-yoing through the competition, being kicked out one week, and being voted back in by the viewers for the final, only to lose out to Tommy Reilly, it was hard to decide upon how much people liked them and really it was all about watching them as the wildcard act of the show.

For a band that didn’t assume they would get anywhere in the indified X factor, life after it all has pretty much surpassed their expectations, allowing a tour diary that goes further afield than just the Midlands and crazily positive reviews from critics and fans alike proving it wasn’t about winning it was about partaking in the competition. And being a really decent band of course.

Dates include:
13th April: EP Launch Party, The Rainbow, Birmingham
15th April: Jericho Tavern, Oxford
16th April: The Canteen, Barrow
17th April: Elbow Rooms, Leeds
18th April: Bumper, Liverpool
