An announced from bookmakers Ladbrokes put DOVES down as the favourites to win this year’s Mercury Music Prize - could it be third time lucky for the Wilmslow trio for their fourth album, Kingdom of Rust?

Ladbrokes have laid over 40 runners in the race, including Little Boots who has been backed from 100/1 into a current price of 12/1 despite the fact the official list isn’t announced until 21st July.

Spokesman Robin Hutchison of Ladbrokes says:

“Doves’ first and second LPs were both unsuccessful Mercury nominations so there is a good chance it will be third time lucky.”
