Tonight (07.11.08) Fused co-hosts the private view at the PLUS International Design Festival which launched on Wednesday. The four-day event that encompasses a programme of lectures, workshops, exhibitors and other activities, giving delegates the opportunity to hear from national and international experts in graphic and typographic design for print, web and interactive media.
Ian Anderson from The Designers Republic opened the Plus Lectures on Wednesday 5 November and Jamie Wieck of Airside closes the proceedings on this evening. In between delegates had a chance to listen to 18
speakers from across the industry including Rob Coke and Ian Hambleton of Studio Output; Jeff Willis of Perks Willis Design; Jonathan Barnbrook, and award-winning Guardian cartoonist Steve Bell.
Since its inception in 2006, Plus has played host to top design-industry figures such as Peter Saville, Sir Michael Wolff and Brian Webb. This years event includes 25 exhibitors (including Fused) from the international graphic and typographic communities and two especially commissioned pieces from UK-based Tim Donaldson and the Beijing agency WOKmedia.
The festival takes place in a beautiful collection of listed buildings fronting Fazeley Street, Floodgate Street and River Street.
